Three South Atlantic Conference Teams Throughout United Soccer Coaches Women's Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The United Soccer Coaches announced its 10th week of Division II women's soccer regional rankings on Tuesday (Nov. 6), with three teams representing the SAC in the southeast.
At No. 2 in the region and No. 14 nationally is Carson-Newman. The Eagles finished as the SAC tournament runner-up in Sunday's (Nov. 4) contest. To reach the finals, Carson-Newman won over Wingate and Catawba.
Moving up to No. 6 is Lincoln Memorial. The Railsplitters earned the SAC automatic qualifier to the southeast regional for their conference tournament title with a defeat of Carson-Newman 3-1. On their way to the finals, Lincoln Memorial also took down Queens and Lenoir-Rhyne as the No. 2 seed.
Rounding out the poll at No. 10 is Catawba. The Catawba Indians reached the SAC tournament semifinals after upsetting Anderson 2-1, but fell short to Carson-Newman by the same score.
All three teams earned bids to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional, with each team taking the field on Friday, November 9.
