Lincoln Memorial Sweeps South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Soccer Player of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during week eight of the 2019 season. Lincoln Memorial forward Jessica Cravero was named the offensive player of the week, while teammate and defender Thenia Zervas was named defensive player of the week.
Cravero, a sophomore from Montenerodibisaccia, Italy, led the Railsplitters to a 2-0 record last week, including a 3-2 overtime win against SAC foe Newberry. She scored four goals on the week, two against Salem, including the game-winner, and two more against Newberry. This is Cravero's second offensive player of the week honor this season.
Zervas, a junior from Kalamata, Greece, was the anchor of a defense that helped LMU to a 2-0 record last week. In addition to her stellar defensive play, Zervas assisted on all three of the Railsplitters' goals in their 3-2 overtime win against Newberry. This is her first defensive player of the week award this season.
