Three SAC Women's Soccer Players Named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans
AUSTIN, Texas | Three South Atlantic Conference women's soccer student-athletes were named to the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Women's Soccer teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Division II Academic All-America® program.
Based on the absence of most fall sports competition, the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Committee revised some rules and procedures for nominating student-athletes this season. Due to the low percentage of games completed this season, the nominees were selected based on career statistics and achievements.
Representing the SAC were Anderson's Annie Kate Hodge, Carson-Newman's Lira Mathes, and Catawba's Katie Beck.
Twenty-two of the 33 members of the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II Women's Soccer teams have at least a 3.90 GPA, with 10 student-athletes maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.95.
