The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the fifth week of the 2021 season. Lenoir-Rhyne defender Ria Acton was named the offensive player of the week, while Queens goalkeeper Erica Turner was named defensive player of the week.
Acton, a junior from Leicester, England, led the Bears to a pair of SAC wins over Coker (5-1) and Lincoln Memorial (4-0) last week. She was involved in all four of the Bears' goals against Lincoln Memorial, scoring three and assisting on the fourth.
Turner, a junior from Dublin, Ireland, posted a pair of shutout victories in the goal for the Royals last week. She led Queens to a 1-0 overtime win over Anderson, making three saves in the victory. She then made two saves and held Carson-Newman scoreless in a 1-0 win. She finished the week with five saves in 182 minutes of action.
