Catawba Women's Soccer Coaching Staff Recognized as United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Southeast Region Staff of the Year
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (November 30, 2021) — United Soccer Coaches announced on Tuesday the 2021 Regional Staff of the Year recipients for NCAA Divisions I, II, III and NAIA men's and women's soccer. Each of the 60 (30 men's and 30 women's) staffs receiving Regional Staff of the Year honors will be recognized at the College Coaches Awards Ceremony at the United Soccer Coaches Convention on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022.
The Catawba staff, led by head coach Nick Brown, claimed the South Atlantic Conference regular season and tournament titles en route to an undefeated 18-0-3 season. The Catawba Indians set records for most wins, best winning percentage and fewest losses. Catawba entered the NCAA II tournament ranked #10 in the nation and was the #2-seed in the regional before failing to advance on penalty kicks. Brown was assisted this season by Colin Wylie, Jason Strange and Jeremy Weeks. In addition, the Regional Staff of the Year recipients have been placed on the ballot for United Soccer Coaches National Staff of the Year consideration within their respective NCAA division.
