The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Soccer Players of the Week for games played in during the sixth week of the 2023 season. Lenoir-Rhyne's Elin Hansson was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Wingate's Manu Baptista Felipe was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Hansson, a sophomore from Halmstad, Sweden, collected eight points on the week as she scored three goals, including both game winning goals, in the Bears two victories this week. Hansson scored two goals against Emory & Henry on Wednesday before scoring the opening goal and adding two assists in the win against the Eagles.
Baptista Felipe, a junior from Santa Maria Da Feira, Portugal, helped lead the Wingate defense to a pair of shutouts and SAC victories last week. In addition to her defensive efforts, Baptista Felipe had a pair of assists in the win at Mars Hill.
