The South Atlantic Conference Announces Women's Soccer Award Winners and All-Conference Selections
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – It has been an amazing season for the Catawba Indians women's soccer team, and they added a handful of individual awards to their ledger as the South Atlantic Conference announced the 2025 All-Conference teams and award winners.
Catawba, which finished 7-0-3 in conference play and sits at 14-0-4 overall, produced the league's Offensive Player of the Year in Bree Ehmer, Defensive Player of the Year in Maria Rayburn, and Coach of the Year in Nick Brown. Coker's Ella Wilke was named the SAC Freshman of the Year.
Ehmer, a junior from Melbourne, Fla., has tallied 14 goals, five assists, and 33 points to help lead the Indians to their fifth SAC regular season crown in program history. She has scored five game-winning goals and recorded a hat trick in a win over North Greenville on Oct. 22. A consistent offensive threat, Ehmer registered at least one point in 13 of Catawba's 18 matches this season.
Rayburn, a senior from Huntersville, N.C., anchored a back line that allowed just eight goals in 18 matches. Catawba posted 12 clean sheets on the year and went six straight matches without conceding a goal. Offensively, Rayburn added four goals and one assist.
Wilke, a freshman from Düsseldorf, Germany, becomes the second straight Coker Cobra to earn SAC Freshman of the Year honors. She scored seven goals and added six assists for 20 points in her rookie campaign, including a pair of two-goal performances—most recently against Tusculum on Oct. 25.
Brown captured his third SAC Coach of the Year award after guiding Catawba through another dominant season. His squad remains unbeaten and has outscored opponents 56–8 this year. Under his leadership, Catawba defeated No. 4 North Georgia on Oct. 15—the highest-ranked win in program history—and has been ranked in the top five nationally for four straight weeks, climbing as high as No. 2 in the nation.
Not surprisingly, Catawba led all schools with nine All-Conference selections, including six on the first team. Joining Ehmer and Rayburn were teammates Morgan Delair, Reese Robinson, Lucy Hack, and Jenni Dähne.
League runner-up Lenoir-Rhyne earned seven All-Conference selections, highlighted by first-teamers Katie Durham and Ava Hartman. Wingate had five All-SAC honorees, while Carson-Newman, Tusculum, and Coker each placed four on the list.
