Lenoir-Rhyne's Boernigen Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Swimmer of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Lisa Boernigen was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets competed in during the eleventh week of the 2022-23 season, the Conference office announced today. 

Boernigen, a senior from Munchen, Germany, recorded seven victories on the week in seven different events as Lenoir-Rhyne visited Queens on Friday and hosted King University on Saturday. She began the weekend with wins in the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.23), the 200-yard IM (2:08.52), and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:44.05). Boernigen continued her winning streak the following day, earning first place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (24.95), the 100-yard IM (1:00.71), the 400-yard medley relay (4:06.45), and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:44.18).
