Brevard’s Lindsay Hostetter Named Women’s Tennis Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, SC -- Brevard College's Lindsay Hostetter has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending March 15, 2010.
Hostetter, a sophomore from Livonia, Mich. (Livonia Stevenson HS), helped guide the Tornados to a 2-0 week at Hilton Head, S.C., winning all four of her matches. Brevard extended its winning streak to six in a row since opening the season by falling to Division I opponents UNC Asheville and Western Carolina.
Hostetter combined with Claire Dillman at No. 2 doubles and defeated Meredith Pierson/Mia Winterbottom from Pembroke, 8-3, and Jenny Greene/Emily Pelosi from Baldwin-Wallace, 8-0.
Playing No. 2 singles, she clinched the win for Brevard against
Pembroke, defeating Mia Winterbottom 7-5, 6-0, and defeated
Baldwin-Wallace's Jenny Greene in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1.
