Wingate’s Olivia Poole Named Women’s Tennis Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, SC -- Wingate University's Olivia Poole has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending February 15, announced conference officials Wednesday.

Poole, a freshman from Boca Raton, Fla. (Boca Raton HS), is a perfect 3-0 in singles play this spring, helping the Bulldogs to a 2-1 record, including a win over No. 27 Augusta State.

Poole started the spring season with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 4 single against No. 27 Augusta State. She teamed with Morgan Winston for a 9-8 win in No. 3 doubles, leading Wingate to a 5-4 victory over the Jaguars. Poole followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win in No. 4 singles against No. 30 Georgia College. She added a 6-1, 6-0 win Tuesday against UNC Pembroke to remain undefeated in singles play. She teamed with Winston for an 8-3 win in No. 3 doubles.
