Queens's Fleyer Named AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Player of the Week for matches played during Jan. 28 through Feb. 3. Queens's Yana Fleyer garnered Player of the Week honors.

A sophomore playing at No. 1 singles and doubles, Fleyer led the Royals to wins over NCAA Division I USC Upstate and SAC foe Mars Hill, going 3-0 in her matches. The Minsk, Belarus native downed her USC Upstate opponents decisively in singles (6-1, 6-4) and doubles (6-1). She routed the Lions in her conference singles match, not allowing a single point (6-0, 6-0). Fleyer is ranked No. 43 overall in singles by the ITA. This is Fleyer's first Player of the Week honor of the season.
