Wingate's Verpelli Named 2019 SAC Women's Tennis Elite 20 Winner

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's senior Michela Verpelli was honored as the 2019 Elite 20 Award winner for women's tennis, presented by the South Atlantic Conference on Thursday, April 18.

This award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 20 team championship sports.

Verpelli, a senior from Milan, Italy has a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in marketing, completing 86 credit hours.

Heading into the championship weekend, Verpelli has racked up 13 singles victories at the No. 1 position and 11 doubles wins also at No. 1.
