Newberry's Spice Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Newberry's Lucy Spice has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during the second week of the 2020 season, the Conference announced today.

Spice, a sophomore from Kent, England, led the Wolves to a 3-0 record last week, while also leading the team to the 2020 City of Florence College Tennis Invitational Championship. Behind her solid play, the Wolves defeated Augusta (4-1), Barton (4-0), and Palm Beach Atlantic (4-3). She was perfect in all of her matches at No. 2 doubles and at No. 3 singles, including a hard fought 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Palm Beach Atlantic in the championship match.

This is Spice's first Player of the Week selection this season.
