Carson-Newman's Resende Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman's Ana Carla Resende has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played during the second week of the 2022 season, the Conference announced today.

Resende, a senior from Minas Gerais, Brazil picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at No.1 against Young Harris and secured another pair of victories against Lees-McRae 6-2,6-1. She and teammate, Anita Choreni, won No. 2 doubles 6-2 and 6-3 over the weekend. 

Resende is ranked No. 8 by ITA for Division II Women's Tennis & regionally ranked No. 2 by ITA for Southeast Region semifinalist in the 2021 ITA Cup.

This is Resende's first Player of the Week selection this season.
