The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for events during Jan. 28 through Feb. 3. Lenoir-Rhyne earned the track honors with Saidah Hardwick and Lincoln Memorial garnered the field honors with Morgan Salyers.
A sophomore sprinter, Hardwick competed at the Buccaneer Invitational, continuing to break Bear records. In the 400 meter dash, the Rolesville, N.C. native owns the school record of 57.29, crossing the line in second. Hardwick also competed in the 200 meter with a 10th place mark of 25.88, a runner-up finish in the 4x400 meter relay in 3:53.88, and the high jump, with a 12th place finish of 1.45 meters (4' 9"). This is Hardwick's second Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
A sophomore jumper, Salyers set a new school record in the triple jump with an 11.34 meter (37' 2.5") leap at the Buccaneer Invitational. The fifth place finish for the Church Hill, Tenn. native is the second best in the conference thus far in the season and her personal-best. This is Salyers's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
