The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for events during this past weekend of the 2019-20 season. Tusculum earned the track honors with Nicole McMillen and Queens gathered the field honors with Jennifer Koehne.
A graduate student distance runner, McMillen broke a SAC and Tusculum school record in the 5000m race with a time of 17:01.33. She shattered her school record by more than a minute and the conference record of 17:10.78 set by Hannah Wolkenhauer of Queens last year. Her time is an NCAA DII Provisional qualifying time and is currently eighth-best in all of Division II. This is McMillen's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
A freshman multi competitor, Koehne took first place in the long jump recording a mark of 5.86-meters. Her mark was an NCAA DII provisional mark and moves the jumper into second place on the Queens' long jump record list as well as first in the league. This is Koehne's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
