Wingate's Tumey Ursery and Limestone's McDonald Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Lauryn Tumey Ursery was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Limestone's Daryn McDonald was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the fourth week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.

Tumey Ursery, a graduate student distance runner from Haw River, N.C., won the mile at the COROS Collegiate Challenge at JDL Fast Track last week. She recorded an NCAA provisional and personal-best time of 5:01.96 in the event. Her time is the top in the SAC this season.

McDonald, a senior jumper from Atlanta, Ga., placed fourth in the long jump and took home eighth place honors in the triple jump at the Carolina Challenge last week. She had a personal-best long jump leap of 5.21 meters and jumped 10.60 meters in the triple jump.
