Wingate's DMR Team and Lenoir-Rhyne's Conner Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Distance Medley Relay team of Abby Heath, Zoe Brickley, Ona Alonso, and Sira Bo were named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Track Athletes of the Week, and Lenoir-Rhyne's Kennedy Conner was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the seventh week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.

The Wingate DMR team posted an NCAA provisional mark and set a new Wingate record at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The team posted a time of 11:56.53, earning the top time in the SAC season by more than 30 seconds.

Conner, a senior from Franklin, N.C., posted an NCAA provisional mark and set a new Lenoir-Rhyne record in the women's pentathlon at the Division II Pre-National Meet. She scored 3,297 points finishing first in the 60-meter hurdles, the long jump, and the high jump.
