Catawba's DMR Team and Limestone's Conner Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba's Distance Medley Relay team of Natalie Almond, Skylar Payne, Raina Andrews, and Aislynn Reagle were named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Track Athletes of the Week, and Limestone's Desiree Conner was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the eighth week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.

The Catawba DMR team posted an NCAA provisional mark and set a new Catawba record at the JDL DMR Invitational. The team posted a time of 11:55.62, earning the top time in the SAC and the southeast region this season.

Conner, a senior jumper from Suwanee, Ga., posted a season-best 5.60-meter leap in the long jump at the USC Indoor Open last week. She placed fifth in the event and was the top SAC performer. She also had a season-best time in the 400-meter dash at 59.49 seconds.
