The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker's Darroneshia Lott has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Wingate's Vanisha Wilshire has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested March 19-25, the League office announced today.

Lott, a senior from Pensacola, Fla., secured the 800-meter title at the Weems Baskin Invitational with a time of 2:08.68. She defeated a large field of Division I athletes and took home the fourth-best time in Coker history.

Wilshire, a junior for Louisburg, N.C., won the high jump at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational last week, and became an NCAA Division II automatic qualifier with her leap of 1.77 meters. Additionally, she is now tied for first in NCAA Division II in the high jump, having cleared 1.77 meters.

The award is Lott's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Wilshire's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
