Lenoir-Rhyne's Dahlberg Named 2022 South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Women's Track & Field

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Kylie Dahlberg was voted the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced today.

The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference's championship sports, and is voted on by the SAC's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. The winners are selected based on their achievements in academics, athletics, service, and leadership.

Dahlberg, a graduate student from Flagler Beach, Fla., holds a 3.98 GPA while majoring in biology. The 2021 SAC Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Dahlberg is a four-time President's List selection, a two-time Academic All-American, a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Mortar Board Honor Societies, and she received the Wayne B. Powell Student-Athlete Excellence Award at Lenoir-Rhyne. Dahlberg also received the Yarborough Grant for Research and was a senior honors research student, presenting her research at the North Carolina Academy of Science.

"I am so proud of Kylie for this outstanding accomplishment," said Lenoir-Rhyne head track & field coach Kevin Patterson. "She has put in a lot of hard work both on and off the track. Congratulations on being named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year."

A three-time all-conference selection and two-time all-region pick, Dahlberg helped lead the Lenoir-Rhyne women's team to the 2022 SAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship. She also earned all-region and all-conference honors in cross country and was a three-time SAC Track Athlete of the Week.  

Off the track, Dahlberg is part of the Bears' Leadership Academy, is a member of the student-athlete advisory committee, and is a peer tutor and academic coach. She also has helped volunteer at local high school track meets during her time at Lenoir-Rhyne.
