The South Atlantic Conference Announces Week Five Astroturf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the fifth week of the 2019 season. Queens Logan Witt takes Player of the Week honors, while Wingate's Rachel Alles was named Specialist of the Week. 

Witt, a junior middle hitter, helped lead the Royals to a 2-0 road record in conference play this week. Witt ranks among the SAC top-10 in total kills, kills/set, hitting percentage, total blocks and blocks per set. She tallied 35 total kills (.485/pct) while averaging 3.89 kills/set and 10 blocks in matches against Carosn-Newman and Lincoln Memorial. This is Witts's first Player of the Week honor this season. 

A senior All-American setter from Tinley park, IL. Alles helped the Bulldogs to a pair of victories this week, extending the Bulldogs win streak to 16 matches. Alles pulled together a rare three-set triple-double in their match against Mars hill, adding 10 kills, 21 assists, 18 digs and two blocks. Through the weekend she averaged 2.33 kills/set, 6.5 assists and 5.00 digs/set. This is Alles' second Specialist of the Week Honor this season.
