The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2019 Volleyball Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Wingate won its 13th South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship in the last 14 years, as it captured the 2019 championship on Saturday (Nov. 16). With the crown, the Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship after finishing the season with a 21-1 Conference record.
Queens earned the No. 2 seed as it finished the South Atlantic Conference season with a 19-3 record. Anderson claimed the No. 3 seed with a 17-5 SAC record, while Carson-Newman took the No. 4 seed with a 16-6 record in conference.
Mars Hill and Tusculum both finished with identical 12-10 records in the SAC. The Lions earned the No. 5 seed by virtue of their 2-0 head-to-head record versus the Pioneers, giving Tusculum the No. 6 seed. Lenoir-Rhyne took the No. 7 seed with an 11-11 in conference record.
Rounding out the championship field is the No. 8 seed Lincoln Memorial. The Railsplitters finished the season with a 10-12 record in conference.
The 2019 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship quarterfinals will be played at the highest seeds on Tuesday, Nov. 19, before moving to Queens University of Charlotte for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 22 and 23, respectively. The South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champion receives the League's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Volleyball Championship.
