The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, Oct. 21

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker's Jacob Chebii has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, while teammate Hannah Weibel has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for races Oct. 12-18, the League announced today.

Chebii, a freshman from Eldoret, Kenya, won the 5k race at the Francis Marion Invitational last week in a time of 16:02. His performance led the Coker men to an overall second place finish at the meet. Coker had The freshman's 5k time moves him to first place all-time at Coker in the distance and now holds both 5k and 8k records. The honor marks his first Runner of the Week plaudit this season. 

Weibel, a senior from Nova, Ohio, took the top spot in the women's 5k race at the Francis Marion Invitational where she finished at 19:25, moving the team up to a first place finish. Weibel's time of 19:25 places her fourth all-time at Coker in a 5k race. This honor marks her first Runner of the Week nod this season.
