Catawba's Mercer Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets competed in during the first week of the season. Catawba's Hannah Mercer was named the runner of the week. 

Mercer, a junior from Lexington, N.C., earned her third consecutive Chick-fil-A Invitational championship last week and helped lead the Catawba Indians to a team championship as well. Mercer won the 5k event with a time of 19:57, defeating her closest competitor by 31 seconds. 

This is Mercer's first Runner of the Week honor for the 2018 season.
