2024 SAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships Set for Saturday, October 26
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – On Saturday (October 26) the South Atlantic Conference will kick off its first championship of the 2024-25 season with Men's and Women's Cross Country.
This year's championships will be hosted by Newberry University and will be run at The Farm in Newberry, S.C. The women will be the first to race with their 6K meet beginning at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 10:15 a.m.
Leading the way in this year's men's race will be the defending national champions, and No. 1 ranked Wingate Bulldogs. In addition to being nationally ranked, the Bulldogs are also No. 1 in the Southeast Region. Also ranked regionally is Anderson at No. 3 and Catawba at No. 5.
The Wingate women's team will highlight the women's race with the Bulldogs being nationally ranked at No. 6. Joining them in the national ranks is Catawba at No. 30. In addition to the Bulldog's national ranking, they are also the top team in the Southeast Region, followed by Catawba at No. 2, Lincoln Memorial at No. 4, and Anderson at No.5.
