Saints Advance to SAC Finals, Beat Wingate 22-15
MATTHEWS, N.C. – Junior attack Jason Thomfohrde (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Sophomore attack Zachary Terry (Tega Cay, S.C.) combined for 10 goals while leading the No. 13 Limestone University men's lacrosse team to an upset win in the semifinals of the 2023 South Atlantic conference tournament over the No. 1 seed and No. 2 nationally ranked Wingate Bulldogs. The Saints capitalized on a 6-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
Bears Win Fifth Straight SAC Tournament Game; Moffat Ties Scoring Mark
MATTHEWS, N.C. -- The No. 6 Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team opened its SAC Tournament title defense with a commanding 17-8 win over Newberry in the SAC Semifinals at the Sportsplex at Matthews on Saturday evening. The Bears have now won five straight SAC Tournament games and Myles Moffat tied the program record for most goals in a SAC Tournament game with five as LR looks to make it three straight SAC Tournament Championships with a rematch with Limestone on Monday at 5 p.m.
