Lincoln Memorial’s Hines Named AstroTurf SAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial forward Qua Hines has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 18 – Jan. 1, the League announced today.

Hines, a freshman from Gatlinburg, Tenn., averaged 15.5 points per game and six rebounds per game as the Railsplitters closed out the 2017 calendar year with two victories. In the 81-73 Dec. 19 victory over No. 17 Southern Indiana, she had a career high 16 points, including a 7-for-10 performance from the free throw line. She also had five rebounds and three assists in the win over USI.  Hines closed out 2017 with 15 points, including a perfect eight-for-eight from the charity stripe in a 72-58 victory at Lenoir-Rhyne on Dec. 30. She also brought down seven rebounds and a pair of assists in the final game of 2017. The award is her first Player of the Week honor this season.
