The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, Oct. 19
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman forward Julianne Herrity has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 12-18, the League announced today.
Herrity, a junior from Donegal, Ireland, had a big week as she helped Carson-Newman to a 2-0 week that included a big victory over then No. 9 Wingate. At Young Harris on Oct. 14, Herrity scored both of Carson-Newman's goals including the double overtime winner. Her first goal came unassisted in the first half, and the game-winner was launched into the top left corner of the net at the 102nd minute. Three days later, in a match-up between the SAC's top two teams, the junior forward scored the lone goal against Wingate off an assist from Varin Ness, bringing her total goals to ten on the season.
