The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, Oct. 31

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne midfielder Abigael McGarel has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 24 – Oct. 30, the League announced today.

McGarel, a freshman from Morristown, Tenn., led Lenoir-Rhyne to a 2-1 victory over South Atlantic Conference foe Newberry on October 29. McGarel scored her fifth goal of the season in the 78^th minute on a penalty kick to give Lenoir-Rhyne the victory and a 12-3-2 finish on the regular season. The win over Newberry gave Lenoir-Rhyne a share of first place for the South Atlantic Conference regular season Championship. Lenoir-Rhyne will be the number one seed in the South Atlantic Conference Soccer tournament this weekend. The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit of the season.
